Alex signs THE UNSEEN in Raleigh tonight

If you're in the Raleigh/Durham area, I'm reading from and signing THE UNSEEN tonight at one of my favorite bookstores of all time - Quail Ridge Books and Music, at 7:30 pm. I think Quail Ridge must be one of the only bookstores in the country that can pack in dozens of readers for an author event - the store should be on every author's radar.

I'm especially psyched about tonight because Dr. J.B. Rhine's daughter, Sally Feather Rhine, a psychologist and paraspsychologist in her own right, will be there, so the discussion should be amazing.

Reading/signing Thursday, June 4, 7:30
Quail Ridge Books & Music
3522 Wade Avenue
Raleigh, NC 27607

If all that weren't enough, I am also guest blogging today at Diane Chamberlain's blog, on how our home states influence us as writers.

AND I'm guest blogging at Murder She Writes, for Allison Brennan, and it's a character post, about using archetypes in your writing: "Goddesses in Everywoman" (a book that everyone who writes or wants to needs to read, if you have any female characters at all.)

So if you've been jonesing for some Screenwriting Tricks, that should give you a fix!

I'll do the men later.

(Wait, that came out wrong...)

See you there. I love Quail Ridge, great venue. I'm really stoked to hear Dr. Rhine's daughter (not that seeing you isn't grand enough, of course).

Sure it did. Innocent slip o' the tongue, nothing planned about that one at ALL...

Well, okay, maybe a little.

Dr. Feather is a fantastic speaker and inspiration. I'm stoked, too!

I wish Raleigh and Boone were closer to one another.

"I'll do the men later" hee hee hee..

I'm having Joe Konrath on tuesday as an interview, and I KNOW what he's like...and I did send him some leading questions...but MAN, when I first got back his answers one of them made me blush crimson head to foot. LOL
It's ok now, I put my own spin around it and he approved it (said it was FUNNY!!!)
Today I gave my readers a heads up and told them it was going to be dirty.
So since I talked with Joe, EVERYTHING is coming out dirty.
YOUR comment delighted me.
I can't beleive I actually launched a blog and that people are coming. Thanks Alex for being one of those bloggers who answers every comment...being a shining example of warmth and politeness is good karma.
I had to order The unseen, waiting with itchy palms to get it and read it. Have fun at the signing.

Kaye, I'm just going to have to drive that way.

And I really am planning to, end of the month-ish.

Um Alex,
Speaking of stealing photos, I "borrowed" your b&w photo from the main page to post with an entry titled "Alexandra Sokoloff,Goddess" on my site today.
Hope you don't mind.
Hugs and a good night's sleep to you.
Karen :)

Alex, I loved this visual of you driving.

"I love being alone on the road and not having to think, or being able to sing intricate harmonies to any number of songs for ten hours at a stretch.."

I would have commented over at murderati, but things got a bit heated about the e books! Way to prompt a discussion.

I'm envious of your singing abilities. The fruit of my womb told me recently that when I sing in the car and I THINK I'm singing higher, I'm REALLY just singing louder...sigh.
Thanks so much for stopping in to my blog today. I am the envy of all of my friends.
Karen :)
