As a matter of fact, Matt, I'm beginning to suspect this is all just a gigantic plot to get me to Alaska.

These mystery people are a devious bunch.

Yeah, it kinda makes ya dizzy doesn't it? Being nominated is more than an honor -- it's a dandy accolade that your publisher can milk for every possible cent! It has been more than a decade since I snagged an Edgar on my first book, and an Anthony Nomination as well. Of course, it's been all downhill since then, but every book I write has "Edgar Award Winner" or "Anthony Award Nominee" splashed across the cover with all the subtlety of a Chevy Chase pratfall. Be careful driving and parking in L.A. I live here too and I have enough problems without being dented by a partner in crime.

Hi Burl - oh all right, I'll try not to plow into you on the 101.

Thanks, Allison... yeah, I'm pretty thrilled, myself. (Michael's on your fourth book, now - I'm starting to get jealous...)
